If you have a Clue Scroll, then its time to start your treasure trail. There are three different levels of Treasure Trails, each with a better reward than the last. To get a higher level Clue Scroll you have to kill a higher-level monster. For a level one clue scroll, you will have to kill a monster between the levels of 2 and 48, for level two you will have to kill ones in the range of 21 to 149 and for level three you will need to kill in the levels of 56-304.
There are a couple other ways to get a runescape gold Clue Scroll other than killing monsters. One way is with Shade Chests. A Bronze chest would give you a level one clue scroll, the Steel chest hands out level one and two, the Black Chests give level two, and the Silver Chests toss out level threes.
